Member Care

The goal of the Congregational Care Committee is that anyone coming into St. Philip Lutheran Church, whether a member, friend, or visitor, feels God's special love. By working together with all members of the congregation, we can make this happen.

The purpose of this committee is to set forth aspects of caring ministries that will reach out to our church family in a kind and loving way, such as:

Flower ministry

Prayer shawl ministry

Card ministry

Checking up on absentees

Coordinate with the Fellowship Committee regarding births, deaths, etc.

Establish a medical ministry list

Shepherd new members

St. Philip is involved in the Myrtle Beach Community!

  • There are four charities that we support through monetary donations.  We also have special needs "supply drives" during designated months throughout the year to help as well. Members and friends are asked to bring in their donations and place in the baskets provided at church.  If you would like to contribute, please bring your donation by the church office during office hours, Monday thru Thursday, 8:30am-3:30pm. or before church on Sunday mornings.
  • Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach is always in need of non-perishable foods. Donations are accepted through the week during office hours, or they can be brought to church before the Sunday morning service.  This is an on-going outreach for our community.
  • Our Flower Ministry is a blessing to our home-bound members, and to members who are in the hospital.  Each week, any altar flowers that have not been picked up by their sponsor, is divided into bud vases and taken to those members who are home-bound, sick, or in the hospital.  This has not only been a blessing to the recipient, but also to the ladies who deliver the flowers.
